Welcome to blarneystar.com. We borrowed the name from the Blarney Star bar, owned and operated for many years by County Louth native Tony Brady on Murray Street in downtown Manhattan. Following the closing of the legendary Eagle Tavern in 1993, Friday night concerts of Irish traditional music relocated to the Blarney Star's basement for a decade that spanned the turn of this century. The Blarney Star, alas, is no more, but there's still plenty of good Irish music in New York City, including the weekly Monday night sessions at the Landmark Tavern on Eleventh Avenue at 46th Street in midtown Manhattan.
